Very little is known about the Eidolon, apart from the fact that they pack some power and could easily eat a Human being in their true form. There is no known way of knowing who is an Eidolon (unless they show their true form) because they can take on a Humanoid form and no known magic can penetrate their disguises. I think the closest race to the Eidolon is the Dragon, but that could be incorrect.
They were thought to be extinct after one of their own killed off all other males but it seems he missed some and they are now gaining numbers again. They generally prefer to not fight but if provoked are a very dangerous opponent.
