The Phoenix is a bird that is associated with the Egyptian sun god Ra and the Greek sun god Apollo amongst others. The Phoenix lives in an unknown location since the destruction of it's old bathing pool. The Phoenix each morning bathes in the pool and sings beautiful bird song. There can only be one Phoenix alive at any one time. When the Phoenix feels its old and its time to die it builds a nest, then settles on it, and finally sets it on fire. The Phoenix burns to death in the flames and from theses flames a new Phoenix emerges. Because of this, it's image is often seen adorning sarcophagi and tombs.
